The Imaging RN works with technologists, PA, Radiologists and Vascular Surgeons in all the Imaging modalities.  Prepares patients prior to procedures, provides patient education and discharge teaching, administers conscious sedation, monitors patients throughout procedures.

1. Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate patient.
2. Provides nursing care with consideration of the age group served within the health care system.
3. Demonstrates appropriate use of equipment/supplies.
4. Uses appropriate safety and infection control measures.
5. Teaches/directs/advises/informs others in an appropriate professional manner.
6. Reports/records information legibly and appropriately.
7. Maintain annual unit specific mandatory competencies prior to expiration.
8. Attends and completes required meetings, in-services and competency validation activities.

 

Responsibilities

Physical:
Able to access entire facility; lift and transport patients,supplies and equipment. Demonstrate manual dexterity,
hearing acuity, and verbal ability. Displays ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, lifting, bending, and
stooping during the majority of the work day while wearing lead apron. Has sufficient endurance to perform tasks over lengthy periods of time.
Involves exposure to blood/bodyfluids, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases. Ensure a safe environment
by optimizing safety at all times.

Additional:

Communicates effectively with a wide range of age groups, ethnic, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Work cooperatively with co-workers, volunteers, and other FirstHealth team members to provide optimal quality care.
Demonstrates physical assessment skills. Displays effective organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize with accuracy
and speed. Illustrates efficient computer skills within service provided. Demonstrates effective problem solving and has
ability to develop critical thinking skills. Maintains clinical and professional competency levels required of age-specific
populations. When not performing patient care,must be able to anticipate unit needs – including stocking supplies within
the unit.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessaryto perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compactrequired.
  • current BLS and ACLS.
  • prefer at least 1 year of Emergency or Critical Care nursing.
